I was watching the Channel 5 show 'Make Your Child Brilliant' which is presented by Bernadette Tynan and it was reasonably interesting. If focused around recognising childrens hidden talents and taking time to nurture those talents with various brain training techniques.
Whilst I question the concept behind the show there was some interesting points included. One of them included kinisthetic learning which focuses on learning by physical activity. We will be trying out learning to spell with physical letters using our Banagrams kit and seeing how we get on.
The show seemed to be making the point that all children have hidden talents, and many of them are not recognised by the education system. The show then went on to identify several 'gifted' children and then selected just one for special attention.
